Welcome to Bible Nightingale
For most of my life, I carried some pretty negative assumptions about the Bible—assumptions I’d never actually tested. I was a natural born skeptic, with strong opinions about the Bible, and certain I didn’t need it.
I wasn’t an atheist; I believed in something. But that “something” was nebulous, out there and shifting. Over the years I explored everything from world religions like Hinduism, Buddhism and philosophy to alternative spirituality like tarot, astrology and angel cards, hoping to make sense of my existence to “find myself”. My journey was a long one—full of curiosity, detours, and more than a few dead ends and heart break.
I did a lot of therapy and unexpectedly (to me), it brought me back to my Christian roots. I questioned why I had such negative views about the Bible without studying it. I put aside my tarot deck and circled back to my childhood roots. Christianity and the Bible. Not because of nostalgia. Not because of cultural pressure. But because, when I looked honestly at the world—and at myself—Christianity offered a lens that made sense of it all. And because Jesus is such a beautiful example to follow.
Here at Bible Nightingale, I’ll be working through the Bible starting in Genesis, using the SOAP method:
- S – Scripture: Reading the passage carefully.
- O – Observation: Noticing what stands out, what’s repeated, and what’s surprising.
- A – Application: Considering how it speaks about my life.
- P – Prayer: praying to God for peace, understanding and an open heart
This isn’t about blind belief or glossing over hard questions. It’s about reading the text with fresh eyes, engaging with it honestly, and seeing where it leads me.
I’ll be sharing these reflections in this blog and through videos on YouTube and Rumble. My hope is that Bible Nightingale becomes a space for open, thoughtful exploration—for anyone who’s ever wondered, doubted, or simply wanted to start at the beginning and see for themselves.
